Scotia Grendel Sci-Fi 6mm Miniatures Images

Why
I have collected the Scotia Grendel sci-fi 6mm miniatures, painted them and done photos of them. Because on their site and in general on the internet there is no place where images of all these miniatures are shown together and because people are asking for such a place (see TMP message threads) I decided to deliver pro bono such a place, because I like what I do and in the interest of the community. I also needed for myself...

How
I acknowledge that many miniatures need more work regarding their paint job (even preparing before painting), but it was a lot of work and I think as it is, it is a good thing that this is now online. In the future, I will work on repainting some of them, working out some details, or applying some effects and also improving their photo. It is always hard to take a good photo on something so small (as per usual, I have placed a 8mm cube along with each miniature just to have something to compare the measures of the 6mm miniatures; I've used what I have, the camera of a phone) and of course to paint something like this, that is at the same time, more often than not, not supposed to be seen from up so close, but usually from at least 2 feet/approx. 60 cm distance as is the case in wargaming.

The process of painting was like this: removing flesh (not many problems in this aspect), washing (water and liquid soap), priming (vallejo black), two-three coats of medium gray from vallejo, applying details (lighter or darker gray, different colors for details), camouflage, sometimes washing and edge highlighting or vallejo satin varnish.

Results
Under each photo that can be enlarged there is the name of the painted miniature, its code from Scotia Grendel for ease of identification and a link that leads you to further images if you are more interested in a respective miniatures, since I have taken, for most of the miniatures, photos from different angles. You can you use the search function to find out more easily when you want to find something in particular, I could not post them in the order of their code. Hope there are no mistakes at identifying the miniatures, as it was a long process (for infantry miniatures there could be such problems). 120+ photos are only here, but when following the links more are to be found.

Review
The miniature themselves are quite varied: from infantry, power armoured units, aliens to all sorts of artillery, flying saucer and other flying and anti-air vehicles to soft vehicles (jeeps, trucks, apc), hard vehicles (each type of vehicle often in a triad: wheeled, ACV and Grav), and finally, mighty beasts of tanks, for both human and aliens.

Some miniatures are quite big, other a little small for 6mm; some may have a design that you either like it or not (a love and hate thing), some may have surprising details (just do a wash or try to pick each and every detail and you will know what I mean, and I am not even a good painter) while others may seem kind of dull; some may have a good cast, others seem to show a little bit their age; some are quite pricey, but all in all, Scotia Grendel sci-fi 6mm miniatures it is such a wonderful range that you have to try and paint in this lifetime.

  1. Thank you! This was very helpful in selecting miniatures from the Scotia Grendel website that don't have accompanying images.
