Historical periods/scale and measures in wargaming - diversity will never be enough

This is more about what I collect and paint. As there are many miniatures for almost all historical periods as for fantasy and sci-fi, and a huge amount of scales and measures, so it's no wonder there is such a tremendous amount of diversity. There is no easy choice to make as there is no historical period or scale/measure to have it all and most important to have all that you want - it happens very frequently for each of us. Sometimes we might not be willing to give that much money as some company may ask (although quality and quantity-size/measure play an important role in this respect and not only the marketing politics of a company), other times we do not like the quality of the miniatures or the way the products are structured (types of miniatures and quantity). So stay cool, relax, because if you are really into this hobby, for sure you will not like what you find, but in the end all will be good, as you will figure out a solution to all your problems, even if it's a temporary solution. So with all the diversity that is now on the miniature's market it is still not enough and will never be, as the curiosity and wishes of collectors, painters and wargamers increase continuously like the Universe is expanding, or something like that.
Look at my bad/good example, because with little steps I will collect miniatures for the Ancient and Medieval periods and in the future for 1500-1939 period, and I think I will stick for these periods to 10mm, 1/72 and 28mm. The slide to Ancient and Medieval periods is done because I also collect and like to play fantasy wargames, in which these type of miniatures can be easily employed (with a spell you can summon a Nubian Cavalry or a Teutonic Knight). It will also represent a challenge to paint new types of miniatures and scales/measures from different companies, thus improving my overall skills of painting.
